Run a student group project

Who’s writing which section, when it’s due, and every source someone found. Group members add from their own assistant, and anyone can ask what’s left before the deadline.

An example

@ADoor I'll take the literature review, due Nov 2. Found two good sources: Ostrom 1990 and Hardin 1968.

ADoor Added 1 entry to Tasks and 2 to Sources

What you can ask later

  • “What’s due this week and who’s on it?”
  • “Which sources do we have on climate policy?”
  • “What’s still not started?”
  • “Who added the Ostrom source and what did they note?”

Who can see what

  • Every group member adds tasks and sources, and updates their own tasks (one grant per person).
  • The supervisor can get read access to Tasks to follow progress.
  • When the course ends, remove everyone’s access in one step. What they saved stays.

How it compares with a shared doc or Trello

Google Docs is better for writing the paper together, and Trello is better if you like moving cards on a board.

Use ADoor for the bookkeeping around the writing: tasks and sources everyone adds in a sentence, and an answer to “what’s left?” without anyone updating a board.

How to start

  1. Sign in to ADoor and connect an assistant like ChatGPT. Claude, Grok and Cursor connect the same way, through MCP.
  2. Tell it: “Set up our group project: Tasks (task, owner, due, status) and Sources (title, author, year, link, notes, added by). Invite my group.”
  3. Give your supervisor read access to Tasks.
