Start a reading log

Books you’ve finished, what you’re reading now, what’s next, and the lines you wanted to keep. Months later, ask your assistant what you thought of a book, or which quote it was.

An example

@ADoor Finished Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow today. 4 out of 5, loved the middle part. Save the quote about games being a way to love someone.

What you can ask later

  • “How many books did I finish this year, and how many were nonfiction?”
  • “What’s next on my to-read list that I already own?”
  • “Find the quotes I saved about friendship.”
  • “Which authors do I keep coming back to?”
  • “Chart how many books I finished each month this year.”

Who can see what

  • Only you by default. The assistants you connect read it with your access, never more.
  • A book club can read your Books list without seeing Quotes or your private notes field.
  • Your kids can each keep their own reading log in the same space, each limited to the entries where Reader is their name, one grant per child.

How it compares with Goodreads or StoryGraph

Goodreads and StoryGraph are better for discovery: other readers’ reviews, recommendations, cover art and reading challenges with friends.

With ADoor, the log stays in your hands and answers questions. Quotes sit next to the books, you choose every field, and your assistant can answer “what did I think of that book about the chess player?” right away. Everything exports as CSV or JSON.

How to start

  1. Sign in to ADoor, then add it to an assistant like ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or Cursor through MCP.
  2. Tell it: “Keep a reading log for me with title, author, status, date finished, rating, and a separate list for quotes linked to each book.”
  3. When you finish a book, tell your assistant the rating and anything worth keeping.

Questions people ask

Can I bring my Goodreads shelves?

Yes. Export your library as CSV from Goodreads, attach it in your assistant and ask it to add the books.

Can I set a reading goal?

Yes. Tell your assistant the goal and ask how you’re doing whenever you like.

How much does ADoor cost?

The free plan holds 3 tables and 100 rows, enough to start a list like this. Pro is $10 a month per workspace, with 1 GB of storage and no per-GB charges.

What happens if I remove someone’s access?

Their next request is refused. What they already saved stays, and the history shows who made each change.
