ADoor vs Notion
Notion is a workspace for pages, wikis and databases, with Notion AI and an MCP server for outside assistants. ADoor, your data account, keeps the records a team works from, and gives every person, app and assistant like ChatGPT its own access to them.
Where ADoor stands out
One list per assistant
A Notion MCP connection can read and update the content you can access in the workspace you pick. An assistant in ADoor can be limited to one list, some fields or certain entries, and never gets more than the person who connected it.
Personal data that stays yours
Keep your own lists, notes and plans in your personal workspace. Nothing there is shared until you invite someone or connect a tool, and each tool you connect sees only what you approve.
A history of changes, with what each replaced
ADoor keeps a history of changes, with who made each one and the before and after. Notion keeps page version history for 7 days on Free, 30 on Plus and 90 on Business.

ADoor
ADoor is your data account. You keep lists and tables in a workspace you own, personal or team: a reading list, an incident log, a list of customers. Describe what you want to keep track of and it's set up for you, with real Postgres underneath. Every person, app, assistant, device and job gets its own access.
- Assistants
- ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Cursor connect through MCP with a sign-in.
- Apps and scripts
- An HTTP API with keys, running the same actions assistants use
- Access
- Per space, list or field, or just the entries where a field equals a value you choose. Reading, adding, editing and deleting entries, and changing a list's fields, are separate permissions. An assistant never gets more than the person who connected it.
- Approvals
- Agents ask for more access and you approve or deny. A new device signs in only after you approve it and choose its access.
- CI jobs
- GitHub Actions signs in with short-lived access, 15 minutes by default and up to 30 days, with no stored secret.
- Revoking
- Takes effect on the next request. What was already saved stays.
- History
- A history of changes, with who made each one and the before and after
- Underneath
- Standard Postgres
- Plans
- Free for 3 tables and 100 rows. Pro is $10 a month per workspace, with 1 GB of storage.

Which one should you use?
Use Notion when
your team writes things down: docs, meeting notes, wikis and plans, with some lists inside them.
- Writing and records together. A project page with its tasks list right below it.
- Notion AI. AI search covers your workspace and connected sources like Slack and Google Drive, on Business and Enterprise.
- Files and pages. Attach files and link pages.
Use ADoor when
your company's records need SQL, access per field and entry, and history that doesn't expire after a set number of days.
Technical
- Production services write audit events through the API with add-only keys. A history of changes keeps who made each one and the before and after.
- An agent running nightly reports reads three lists and can change none of them.
Personal
- Your mother's medications, doses and appointments, shared with your brother. He can update doses. Your other notes stay private.
- Travel documents and their expiry dates for the whole family. Ask ChatGPT in March whose passport runs out before summer.
Team
- An incident log across engineering and support, where the incident bot can add entries but never delete one.
- Revoking a team member's access takes effect on the next request, and their entries stay.
Business
- A side-project roadmap your assistants update, with the Revenue field visible only to you.
- A recruiting pipeline where interviewers see their candidates and nobody else's.
