ADoor vs ClickUp
ClickUp is an all-in-one work tool with tasks, docs, chat and whiteboards. ADoor, your data account, keeps the records a team or a company works from, where each person, app and assistant like ChatGPT has its own access.
Where ADoor stands out
Delete is its own permission
ClickUp's MCP server doesn't delete things for now. In ADoor, reading, adding, editing and deleting are separate permissions, so you can let a cleanup agent delete in one list and nowhere else.
Keys and sign-in
ClickUp's MCP server accepts OAuth only, not API keys. ADoor offers both: OAuth for assistants, keys for apps, and short-lived sign-in for GitHub Actions.
Access per field
In ADoor you can give an assistant a list without one field. ClickUp's guests are given full access on lower plans, with permission controls on higher ones.
The products
ClickUp
ClickUp combines tasks, docs, chat, goals and dashboards.
- Assistants
- A hosted MCP server at mcp.clickup.com/mcp, OAuth only
- Access
- Guests with permission controls, custom roles on Enterprise
- Change history
- Activity views; audit log on Enterprise
- Plans
- Free Forever. Unlimited is $7 per user a month billed yearly.
ADoor
ADoor is your data account. You keep lists and tables in a workspace you own, personal or team: a reading list, an incident log, a list of customers. Describe what you want to keep track of and it's set up for you, with real Postgres underneath. Every person, app, assistant, device and job gets its own access.
- Assistants
- ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Cursor connect through MCP with a sign-in.
- Apps and scripts
- An HTTP API with keys, running the same actions assistants use
- Access
- Per space, list or field, or just the entries where a field equals a value you choose. Reading, adding, editing and deleting entries, and changing a list's fields, are separate permissions. An assistant never gets more than the person who connected it.
- Approvals
- Agents ask for more access and you approve or deny. A new device signs in only after you approve it and choose its access.
- CI jobs
- GitHub Actions signs in with short-lived access, 15 minutes by default and up to 30 days, with no stored secret.
- Revoking
- Takes effect on the next request. What was already saved stays.
- History
- A history of changes, with who made each one and the before and after
- Underneath
- Standard Postgres
- Plans
- Free for 3 tables and 100 rows. Pro is $10 a month per workspace, with 1 GB of storage.

Which one should you use?
Use ClickUp when
your team plans and tracks work in one tool and wants tasks, docs and chat together.
- Tasks and projects. Views, sprints, time tracking and goals come built in. ADoor has no task views.
- Chat and docs. Messaging and docs sit next to the work.
- Automations. Business includes automations and webhooks.
Use ADoor when
the lists in your work tool have become the records other systems and assistants rely on.
Technical
- Your nightly script writes each run's results to an add-only list, and you query it in SQL.
- A cleanup agent may delete entries in Old leads and nowhere else.
Personal
- Chores and pocket money for the kids. They mark chores done, and only you edit the amounts.
- Your vinyl records with pressing, condition and what you paid. You ask ChatGPT at the record fair whether you already own an album.
Team
- Marketing, sales and design share an Assets list where design edits files' status and sales reads.
- A history of changes shows who changed each status and what it was before.
Business
- Each regional office edits only the entries with its name in a company-wide Budget list.
- An outsourced support team gets read access to Product facts, and you revoke it when the contract ends.
- A franchise keeps each location's equipment in one list, and each manager edits only the entries for their location.
