ADoor vs HubSpot

HubSpot is a CRM platform with marketing, sales, service and content tools built on it. ADoor is a data account for the lists and tables a company keeps, customer records included. People, apps and assistants like ChatGPT each get their own access to it, down to a single field.

Where ADoor stands out

Field access that applies everywhere

On Enterprise plans, HubSpot can restrict who views or edits a property, but its help center doesn't recommend this as a security measure, since any user can still set a restricted property through the API or when creating a record. In ADoor, field access applies the same way through the MCP server, the API and the app.

Other lists next to your customers

HubSpot's MCP server reaches CRM records, marketing content and activities. ADoor keeps whatever the company tracks, from deals to suppliers, contracts, incidents and the hiring pipeline, each as a list with its own fields and its own access.

History without an Enterprise plan

HubSpot's audit log API is for Enterprise accounts, and property history exports keep up to 45 revisions for contact properties and 20 for other objects. ADoor keeps a history of changes, with who made each one and the before and after.

The products

HubSpot

HubSpot is a customer platform that combines a CRM with Marketing, Sales, Service, Content and Data hubs.

Assistants
A remote MCP server at mcp.hubspot.com, generally available since April 13, 2026. Every action respects the user's HubSpot permissions.
Access
User permissions. On Enterprise, view and edit limits on individual properties.
Change history
Property history on records. Centralized audit logs on Enterprise.
Plans
Free CRM for up to 2 users and 1,000 contacts. Starter at $20 per seat a month.

ADoor

ADoor is your data account. You keep lists and tables in a workspace you own, personal or team: a reading list, an incident log, a list of customers. Describe what you want to keep track of and it's set up for you, with real Postgres underneath. Every person, app, assistant, device and job gets its own access.

Assistants
ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Cursor connect through MCP with a sign-in.
Apps and scripts
An HTTP API with keys, running the same actions assistants use
Access
Per space, list or field, or just the entries where a field equals a value you choose. Reading, adding, editing and deleting entries, and changing a list's fields, are separate permissions. An assistant never gets more than the person who connected it.
Approvals
Agents ask for more access and you approve or deny. A new device signs in only after you approve it and choose its access.
CI jobs
GitHub Actions signs in with short-lived access, 15 minutes by default and up to 30 days, with no stored secret.
Revoking
Takes effect on the next request. What was already saved stays.
History
A history of changes, with who made each one and the before and after
Underneath
Standard Postgres
Plans
Free for 3 tables and 100 rows. Pro is $10 a month per workspace, with 1 GB of storage.

Which one should you use?

Use HubSpot when

your company runs sales, marketing and service from one CRM and wants the tools that come with it.

  • Marketing and sales tools. Marketing, Sales, Service and Content hubs sit on the same CRM. ADoor keeps records and sends nothing.
  • A free CRM to start. The free plan covers 2 users and 1,000 contacts.
  • Ready-made AI connectors. HubSpot offers connectors for Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Gemini, built on its MCP server.

Use ADoor when

customer records are one of many lists your company keeps, and each person, script and assistant should see exactly its part.

Technical

  • Your billing service writes every invoice and payment to an Invoices list with an add-only key, next to the accounts, and finance queries both in SQL.
  • A GitHub Actions job that loads product usage into the Accounts list signs in for 15 minutes with no stored secret.
  • A support agent built in Cursor reads accounts and adds notes, but has no access to the Owner or Contract value fields.

Personal

  • Your freelance clients, what you invoiced each one and who has paid. You ask Claude on your phone who is late this month.
  • Your kids' school schedule, teachers and the carpool parents. Your partner edits it, and the babysitter reads the pickup times and nothing else.

Team

  • Customer success, support and engineering share an Escalations list. Engineers edit, support adds, and the paging bot can add entries but never delete one.
  • Each edit to a renewal shows who made it and the date before, so nobody has to ask who moved it.

Business

  • A reseller sees only the accounts it brought in, without your internal notes. When the partnership ends you revoke it, and its entries stay.
  • Sales edits deals, but only finance can change the Discount field. The assistant a salesperson connects can't change it either, because it never gets more than that person.

Questions people ask

Should I use ADoor or HubSpot?

Use HubSpot if you need its email, forms and marketing tools. ADoor is not a CRM. It keeps lists and tables, customers among them, that people and assistants share with access per field.

How do I move HubSpot data to ADoor?

Export the records you need as CSV, attach the file in an assistant like ChatGPT and ask it to import them. ADoor doesn't sync with HubSpot.

Which assistants work with ADoor?

ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Cursor connect through MCP with a sign-in. You approve each one and choose what it can reach.
