ADoor vs Glide
Glide is a platform for building business apps, now GlideOS, where you or your own agent build the app. ADoor is a data account for the records those apps and your assistants use, where each person, app and assistant gets its own access.
Where ADoor stands out
Data that isn't tied to one app
Glide is built around the projects and apps a team publishes. ADoor keeps lists any app, script or assistant like ChatGPT can reach, each with its own access.
Access on every plan
Glide's MCP is on Pro and above, at $125 a month, and org-level roles come with Pro. In ADoor, access per field, and to the entries that match a value you choose, is part of every space.
A history of changes
Glide's data backups run from 24 hours to 30 days by plan. ADoor keeps a history of changes, with who made each one and the before and after.
The products
Glide
Glide is an app builder where you describe or design business apps, with data, workflows and AI.
- Assistants
- A remote MCP server at mcp.glideapps.dev/mcp, on Pro and above
- Access
- Org-level roles on Pro; project-level roles on Enterprise
- Change history
- Data backups for 24 hours to 30 days by plan
- Plans
- Free with limited credits. Basic is $25 a month.
ADoor
ADoor is your data account. You keep lists and tables in a workspace you own, personal or team: a reading list, an incident log, a list of customers. Describe what you want to keep track of and it's set up for you, with real Postgres underneath. Every person, app, assistant, device and job gets its own access.
- Assistants
- ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Cursor connect through MCP with a sign-in.
- Apps and scripts
- An HTTP API with keys, running the same actions assistants use
- Access
- Per space, list or field, or just the entries where a field equals a value you choose. Reading, adding, editing and deleting entries, and changing a list's fields, are separate permissions. An assistant never gets more than the person who connected it.
- Approvals
- Agents ask for more access and you approve or deny. A new device signs in only after you approve it and choose its access.
- CI jobs
- GitHub Actions signs in with short-lived access, 15 minutes by default and up to 30 days, with no stored secret.
- Revoking
- Takes effect on the next request. What was already saved stays.
- History
- A history of changes, with who made each one and the before and after
- Underneath
- Standard Postgres
- Plans
- Free for 3 tables and 100 rows. Pro is $10 a month per workspace, with 1 GB of storage.

Which one should you use?
Use Glide when
you want a finished app, with screens and workflows, for people who won't touch the data directly.
- Apps without code. Glide builds mobile and web apps for teams. ADoor has no app builder.
- Public apps. Pro publishes public apps.
- Your agent builds it. Connect your own agent over MCP to build the app.
Use ADoor when
several apps, scripts and assistants need the same records, and each must see only its part.
Technical
- A Glide app, a Python job and an assistant all read the same Inventory list, each with its own key or sign-in.
- A CI job checks stock thresholds after each deploy with short-lived access.
Personal
- Your son's football team: fixtures, kit sizes and who drives each week. Parents add themselves as drivers, and only the coach edits fixtures.
- Your kids' clothing and shoe sizes, so grandparents can ask ChatGPT before buying a present.
Team
- Facilities, IT and HR share an Office requests list, and each team edits only the entries with its name.
- New devices for the front desk sign in only after you approve them.
Business
- Field staff add inspections through an app; managers read them in an assistant; only compliance edits the Result field.
- A cleaning contractor sees only its sites, and you revoke it when the contract ends.
