ADoor vs SeaTable
SeaTable is a no-code database with apps, automations and Python scripts, in the cloud or on your own servers. ADoor is a data account for the records a team or a person keeps, where every person, app and assistant like ChatGPT has its own access.
Where ADoor stands out
Access to a field, not a whole base
SeaTable's MCP server uses a per-base API token, read-only or read-write. In ADoor, an assistant can get one list, without one field, with adding, editing and deleting set separately.
Sign in, with no token to paste
SeaTable's hosted MCP server takes the base token as a Bearer header. ADoor's MCP server uses an OAuth sign-in, and the assistant never gets more than the person who connected it.
Approvals
In ADoor, agents ask for more access and you approve or deny. A new device signs in only after you approve it.

ADoor
ADoor is your data account. You keep lists and tables in a workspace you own, personal or team: a reading list, an incident log, a list of customers. Describe what you want to keep track of and it's set up for you, with real Postgres underneath. Every person, app, assistant, device and job gets its own access.
- Assistants
- ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Cursor connect through MCP with a sign-in.
- Apps and scripts
- An HTTP API with keys, running the same actions assistants use
- Access
- Per space, list or field, or just the entries where a field equals a value you choose. Reading, adding, editing and deleting entries, and changing a list's fields, are separate permissions. An assistant never gets more than the person who connected it.
- Approvals
- Agents ask for more access and you approve or deny. A new device signs in only after you approve it and choose its access.
- CI jobs
- GitHub Actions signs in with short-lived access, 15 minutes by default and up to 30 days, with no stored secret.
- Revoking
- Takes effect on the next request. What was already saved stays.
- History
- A history of changes, with who made each one and the before and after
- Underneath
- Standard Postgres
- Plans
- Free for 3 tables and 100 rows. Pro is $10 a month per workspace, with 1 GB of storage.

Which one should you use?
Use SeaTable when
you want a no-code database with an app builder, and want the option to run it on-premise.
- On-premise. SeaTable can be installed on your own server. ADoor is hosted only.
- Column permissions in the UI. Table, view and column permissions are part of the product.
- Scripts. Python runs inside SeaTable.
Use ADoor when
assistants and scripts are doing more of the work, and each needs exactly its own access, not a token for the whole base.
Technical
- A booking service adds each reservation to an add-only Bookings list, and the revenue team queries it in SQL.
- A Claude agent that drafts supplier emails reads Suppliers without the Price field.
Personal
- Your houseplants: when each was last watered and repotted. Your neighbour checks the list while you're away and can only mark plants as watered.
- Spanish vocabulary you're learning, with how often you get each word wrong. You quiz yourself with ChatGPT on the bus.
Team
- Field service, dispatch and billing share a Jobs list. Technicians edit the jobs with their name, and billing reads.
- A history of changes shows who closed each job and what was entered before.
Business
- A franchise owner sees only the locations with their name in a company-wide list.
- A marketing agency's assistant adds campaign results to one list. You revoke it when the retainer ends, and the results stay.
