# Run a task queue for your agents

People add work in plain words, agents claim it, do it and write back the result. Each agent edits only the tasks it claimed.

## An example

**You:** How far have the agents got with this morning's three tasks?

**ADoor:** Read 3 entries from Agent tasks

**Agent tasks**

| Task | Status | Claimed by | Result |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Triage 40 new issues | Done | triage-bot | 37 labeled, 3 for review |
| Changelog for v1.43 | Claimed | writer-bot | – |
| Check docs links | Open | – | – |

## What you can ask later

- “What’s open, and what’s been claimed for more than an hour?”
- “What did the agents finish today?”
- “Which tasks failed, and why?”
- “Requeue the docs check.”

## Who can see what

- **People** add tasks and read results.
- **Each agent** claims tasks and edits Status and Result on its own tasks only.
- **An agent that needs more access** for a task asks, and you approve or deny.
- **A CI job** can add tasks with short-lived access when a build fails.

## How it compares with a job queue or an issue tracker

Job queues like SQS or Celery are better for high-volume machine work with retries and delivery guarantees. ADoor isn’t a message queue.

Agent work that people care about fits ADoor: tasks added in plain words, claimed by agents with their own access, and results anyone can read and ask about.

## How to start

1. Open an assistant like ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or Cursor and connect ADoor through MCP.
2. Tell it: “Set up an agent task queue: Agent tasks (task, added by, status, claimed by, claimed at, result).”
3. Give each agent access to claim tasks and edit Status and Result on its own tasks.

## Questions people ask

### Can two agents claim the same task?

ADoor supports compare-and-set edits: a change made against an outdated value is rejected, so only one claim wins.

### Can I limit what an agent can do?

Yes. Each agent gets its own access, down to specific fields, or just the entries that match a value you choose.

### How much does ADoor cost?

The free plan holds 3 tables and 100 rows, enough to start a list like this. Pro is $10 a month per workspace, with 1 GB of storage and no per-GB charges.

### Does it work with Claude and Grok too?

Yes. ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Cursor all connect through MCP with a sign-in, and each gets its own access that you can narrow or remove later.
