# Connect

Connect an assistant or your own code to ADoor. Each connection gets only the access you approve, and you can revoke it in ADoor at any time.

The MCP URL is `https://app.adoor.halmoslabs.com/mcp`.

**Connect your assistant. ADoor opens in your browser, where you sign in or create your account, choose a space and approve.**

- [Add to Cursor](cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=adoor&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL2FwcC5hZG9vci5oYWxtb3NsYWJzLmNvbS9tY3AifQ==)
- Claude: In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector. Paste `https://app.adoor.halmoslabs.com/mcp` and add it.
- Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http adoor https://app.adoor.halmoslabs.com/mcp`
- ChatGPT: On chatgpt.com, open Plugins, choose +, then Add custom MCP server. Paste `https://app.adoor.halmoslabs.com/mcp`, choose OAuth, and create it as a plugin.
- Grok: On grok.com, open Connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom. Paste `https://app.adoor.halmoslabs.com/mcp`.

## ChatGPT

1. On chatgpt.com, open Plugins, choose +, then Add custom MCP server. On a Business, Enterprise, or Edu workspace, the workspace's policy has to allow custom MCP servers.
2. Name it ADoor and paste the MCP URL under Connection. Choose OAuth and leave the client ID and secret empty. Accept the risk warning, choose Create as a plugin, then install it.
3. ChatGPT opens ADoor. Sign in, choose the space ChatGPT may reach, and approve.
4. In a chat, type @ and choose ADoor.

Call `context` to see the signed-in account and the workspaces this connection can open. Pass `workspace` with a slug on any tool to use one of them. If `execute` is not listed, call `request_access` for insert or update. ChatGPT keeps a tool list for an existing conversation. Refresh the connector, then start a new chat.

## Cursor

Add ADoor to `~/.cursor/mcp.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "adoor": {
      "url": "https://app.adoor.halmoslabs.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

Cursor uses OAuth, so there is no key in the file. It opens ADoor in your browser, where you choose the space and approve.

## Other assistants

Claude, Grok, and other MCP clients use the same URL and the same OAuth sign-in.

## API

1. In ADoor, open Access and choose New connection. Name it and choose what it can reach.
2. Copy the key. ADoor shows it only once.
3. Send it as a bearer token. Replace `tasks` with one of your tables.

```sh
export ADOOR_KEY='paste the key here'
curl https://app.adoor.halmoslabs.com/api/identity \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $ADOOR_KEY"
curl https://app.adoor.halmoslabs.com/api/query \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $ADOOR_KEY" \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{"sql":"SELECT * FROM tasks LIMIT 10"}'
```

The same key also works as the bearer token on the MCP URL. See the [API](/docs/reference/api/) and [MCP](/docs/reference/mcp/) references. A GitHub Actions job can sign in without a stored key through [workload identity](/docs/guides/workload-identity/).
