# Login with ADoor vs Sign in with ChatGPT

Login with ADoor is coming soon. Sign in with ChatGPT brings the user's AI. Login with ADoor will bring their data: your app signs people in with ADoor and keeps its data in a new space inside their own account.

Nothing on this page can be installed yet. There is no release date.

## What each one gives your app

| | Sign in with ChatGPT | Login with ADoor (coming soon) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Status | Identity-only sign-in is a limited trial for selected commercial partners. Plan usage is open to open-source projects and selected private apps. | Coming soon. The SDKs aren't published. |
| Identity | A stable account ID, name, email and profile picture | The person's ADoor account |
| AI requests | Eligible Plus and Pro users can use their ChatGPT plan for your app's AI requests | None. Bring your own model, or use Sign in with ChatGPT alongside it. |
| The person's data | Doesn't grant access to their ChatGPT conversations | A new space in their account for your app's tables, with the access they approve |
| Your database | You still run one for your app's data | None to run. Your app reads and writes in each person's space. |
| When they leave your app | Their data stays wherever your app kept it | The space stays in their account. They can export it, and their assistants can still read it. |

## How Login with ADoor will work

1. A person chooses Login with ADoor in your app.
2. On first sign-in, they approve a new space for your app's data and the access your app gets, such as reading and adding entries in that space only.
3. Your app reads and writes its tables in that space through the ADoor API.
4. They can take your app's access back at any time. It applies from the next request.

## Using both

The two don't compete. A person can sign in with ChatGPT so your app runs AI on their plan, and connect ADoor so the records your app creates live in their account.

## What works today

- **Assistants.** ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Cursor connect over MCP with OAuth, with the same consent screen. See [Connect](/docs/connect/).
- **Apps you build for yourself or your team.** Use the [HTTP API](/docs/reference/api/) with a key limited to the tables and actions the app needs.
- **Jobs.** GitHub Actions signs in with short-lived access and no stored secret. See [Workload identity](/docs/guides/workload-identity/).

## Questions people ask

### When does Login with ADoor ship?

There's no release date yet. Email support@halmoslabs.com to hear when it does.

### Does Sign in with ChatGPT give my app the user's chats?

No. OpenAI says neither sign-in nor plan usage grants access to the person's ChatGPT conversations.

### What happens to the data if someone stops using my app?

The space stays in their account. They can export it to CSV or JSON, and their assistants can still read it.
