# ADoor vs Zep

Zep is a context and memory platform for agents, built on a temporal knowledge graph. ADoor, your data account, keeps structured records that people, apps and assistants like ChatGPT share, with access per field and entry.

## Where ADoor stands out

### For people too

Zep is built by developers into their own agents. ADoor works in ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Cursor with a sign-in, and people use the same lists.

### Access per field

In ADoor you can share a list without one field, or let an agent add but never delete.

### Approvals

In ADoor a new agent or device waits for your approval.

## The products

### Zep

Zep builds context for agents from a temporal knowledge graph.

Assistants
: A Context MCP Server on Enterprise

Change history
: API logs for 7 days on self-serve, audit logs on Enterprise

Plans
: Free with 10,000 credits a month. Flex is $125 a month.

### ADoor

ADoor is your data account. You keep lists and tables in a workspace you own, personal or team: a reading list, an incident log, a list of customers. Describe what you want to keep track of and it's set up for you, with real Postgres underneath. Every person, app, assistant, device and job gets its own access.

Assistants
: ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Cursor connect through MCP with a sign-in.

Apps and scripts
: An HTTP API with keys, running the same actions assistants use

Access
: Per space, list or field, or just the entries where a field equals a value you choose. Reading, adding, editing and deleting entries, and changing a list's fields, are separate permissions. An assistant never gets more than the person who connected it.

Approvals
: Agents ask for more access and you approve or deny. A new device signs in only after you approve it and choose its access.

CI jobs
: GitHub Actions signs in with short-lived access, 15 minutes by default and up to 30 days, with no stored secret.

Revoking
: Takes effect on the next request. What was already saved stays.

History
: A history of changes, with who made each one and the before and after

Underneath
: Standard Postgres

Plans
: Free for 3 tables and 100 rows. Pro is $10 a month per workspace, with 1 GB of storage.

## Which one should you use?

### Use Zep when

you're building agents that need fast context from many sources over time.

- **Fast retrieval.** Zep publishes 155 ms p95 context retrieval.
- **Facts over time.** Its temporal graph tracks when facts were true.
- **Webhooks.** React to events in your app.

### Use ADoor when

people and agents share the data, and each needs exact limits.

**Technical**
- A scheduling agent adds bookings to an add-only list, and ops queries it in SQL.
- A GitHub Actions job updates a Prompts list with 15 minutes of access.
- A Claude agent drafts replies from a Customers list it can read but not change, and a person approves each new device it runs on.

**Personal**
- Your study schedule and exam dates, updated from ChatGPT on your phone.
- The household chores rota, which each flatmate edits for their own chores.
- Your elderly parent's medications and pharmacy refills, shared with your siblings, who each mark the refills they collected.

**Team**
- A support team's agent reads a Known issues list that engineers edit.
- A history of changes shows who changed each answer.

**Business**
- Customer-facing agents read Pricing, and only finance edits it.
- A vendor's agent reads one list until you revoke it.
- A clinic's front-desk assistant reads Appointments and adds new ones, but never sees Notes, which only clinicians read.
